about

May this be a morning of innocent beginning,
When the gift within you slips clear
Of the sticky web of the personal…
A morning when you become a pure vessel
For what wants to ascend from silence…
John O’Donahue
(from p 17 “To Bless the Space Between Us”)

This album is a beautiful collection of Clair's original music, with some English, some Sanskrit lyrics. This album also includes 2 Leonard Cohen (one of Clair's favorite artists) cover songs as well as a beautiful Rumi poem, set to a lovely melody inspired by beloved kirtan artist, Sean Johnson's Unity. There are a few other surprises as well! Clair is joined by an array of fine musicians and singers: Elijah Tucker, EJ Simpson, Jay Popky, Susan Graves, Michelle Armour, Angela Armour, Akie Bermiss, Greg Glassman, Bob Cozzolino, David Matthew Brown, Ian Boccio, Brenda McMorrow, Benjy Wertheimer, John DeKadt, Emy Berti and more
(see song credits).

"Chanting for me, is a musical shout out to the fact that we are all LOVE, made of LOVE, that LOVE is the answer, whatever the question. If we as humans, could experience the reality of this, how might we change the world we live in... I love to chant as a way to access and celebrate that.

This whole album is a shout out and an expression of that LOVE" - Clair

Track Name: Now
I don't know why it took me so long (3x)
But hey I got it now and I'm never gonna let it go

Looked all around me, it was not there,
thought I'd found it, no
Vanished into thin air
Keep on searchin', still nowhere
Then I looked inside realized it had always been right there
Oh

I don't know why it took me so long (3x)
But hey I got it now and I'm never gonna let it go

And you may ask me "How could this be?"
That I was so blind, I could not see
The answer, inside of me
And I'll say to you, just what I say
To myself
Om

And now that I know, you'd wonder why
One would ever walk away, from One inside
All I can tell you, is that I
May have lost my way at times
But now I've returned to
My One and only, Home

I don't know why it took me so long (3x)
But hey I got it now and I'm never gonna let it go

Om Shanti Om

Peace Prayer (recited daily by school children in India)
May Peace, reign on earth. May there be peace, in the atmosphere, peace in the entire universe, peace in all space and time.Peace in the elements, peace in the fire, peace in the wind, peace in the moon, sun and stars. Peace in the water, peace in the woods, peace in the goats and the cattle, peace in the forests and the plants. Peace in all humanity, peace in all beings. May there be Peace, Peace, Peace, May there be Peace, Peace, Peace.
Track Name: If it Be Your Will
If it be Your will, that I speak no more
And my voice be still, like it was before
I will speak no more, I shall abide until
I am spoken for, if it be Your will

If it be Your will, that a voice be True
From this broken hill, I will sing to You
From this broken hill, all Your praises, they shall ring
If it be Your will, to let me sing

From this broken hill, all Your praises they shall ring
If it be Your will, to let me sing

If it be Your will, if there is a choice
Let the rivers fill, let the hills rejoice
Let Your mercy spill, on these burning hearts in hell
If it be Your will, to make us well

And draw us near, and bind us tight
All Your children here, in their rags of light
In our rags of light, all dressed to kill
And end this night, If it be Your will

Track Name: Govinda Jaya Jaya
If the light begins to fade,
One Love revives the energy
And if joy drifts away
One Love restores the reverie
Om, You are my Home

As life erupts around me
I get caught up and loose the Free
In Your gaze I am reminded
One Love remains my remedy

Your magic way, Om
I've come to play
Om, I've come to play

I find my breath within You
I find my way within You
Revealed this Soul in wonder
Beloved Guide, my heart renew

You light my way, Home
I've come to stay
In Your gaze Om
I've come to stay

Track Name: Anthem
The birds they sang
at the break of day
Start again
I heard them say
Don't dwell on what
has passed away
or what is yet to be.
Ah the wars they will
be fought again
The holy dove
She will be caught again
bought and sold
and bought again
the dove is never free.

Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in.

We asked for signs
the signs were sent:
the birth betrayed
the marriage spent
The widowhood
of every government --
signs for all to see.

I can run no more
with that lawless crowd
while killers in high places
say their prayers out loud.
But they've summoned, they've summoned
a thundercloud
they're going to hear from me.

Ring the bells that still can ring ...

You can add up the parts
but you won't have the sum
You can strike up the march,
there is no drum
Every heart,
to love will come
but like a refugee.

Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack, a crack in everything
That's how the Light gets in.

Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack, a crack in everything
That's how the Light gets in.
That's how the Light gets in.
That's how the Light gets in.
That's how the Light gets in
